Goo Goo Dolls need a rest
I am an aging rocker, a long time fan of Morgan Geer. About 4 years ago, I saw the band and really enjoyed the nostalgic experience, along with their newer material. The band provided good energy, and was tight in support of their long list of hits.
This show, however, was tired. The lead singer, John, appeared to have a migraine or was just completely unmotivated to perform. The energy level and dynamics of the band's performance severely lacked.
I noticed that the lead guitar player never takes a solo for more than two bars. Maybe I was too busy enjoying the songs themselves to observe the lack of technical ability. Maybe if the guy had longer solos, he/they would let loose a bit more.
